A visit to Aros art museum in Aarhus, Denmark

As I promised yesterday, here are more pictures from my visit at Aros art museum in Aarhus, the second biggest city in Denmark. It was my first visit both to the museum and the city, and I loved both. We ended up spending hours at the museum because it had so many different exhibitions and they were all so amazing and interesting!

The museum building reminds of Guggenheim in New York City and is build up the same way – with many different floors all connected by a white round slopy way that leads you from one floor to another.

We saw art back from 200 years ago that among other contained a little collection of paintings from one of my favorite Danish artists Michael Ancher.

What was more special and noteworthy about the museum was the many exhibitions of installation art. We walked through “Your rainbow panorama” by Olafur Eliasson – a 150 meter long round walkway on top of the museum made of glass in the colors of the rainbow. A pretty amazing experience!

If you are ever near by Aarhus in Denmark, this museum deserves a visit. One of the best art museums I’ve ever been to!
