God mandag <3

ENGLISH: Last week I introduced you to a new series taking place on Silverstories.dk. The series are about a weekly challenge I will give myself in order to do better in life in general and to challenge myself, which I really think is a healthy thing to do from time to time.

Last week’s challenge was about working out – in the post I explained that I haven’t been near any kind of gym or work out studio for two months and an end had to come to it! I needed to get back into a good work out routine, so the criteria for the challenge was to go to the gym at least four times in a week.

Today is the day where I can unveil that yes! – I managed to get my ass down to the gym four times, and it felt great. Yes, my body was in pain afterwards, but luckily the post pains from a work out are the good kind of pains. These are the work outs I did last week:

Sunday: Late night hatha yoga with a friend

Monday: Body fit

Wednesday: Morning yoga

Friday: Body fit

The plan this week is to continue with the good routine and hopefully get to work out 3-5 times. As much as I like yoga, I am not quite sure if I personally think that it counts as a work out. What do you guys think?

Girl’s party

<3 Håber I nyder weekenden!

ENGLISH: My inspiration board for tomorrow! Tomorrow I invited a handful of girlfriends to my apartment for cake, drinks, and then I will also do a flea market in order to get rid of some of all the clothes and shoes I have, and I can say that a purge of my closet is much needed. Sharing an apartment with a boyfriend who has even more shoes and clothes than me is a tough task, especially because I am a person who prefers to live in a very minimal space, so the goal to not owning too many things is something I am trying to life after!

My friend is coming over tomorrow morning and we have a few hours ahead of us to bake brownies and cupcakes, make the drinks, get the apartment looking nice and I am excited for a little, cute girls party! <3

Hipster guide to Rome

(I only wrote this guide in English, but let me know if any Danish readers are interested in a Danish version <3) When I travel I am a big fan of the classic hipster places that have decoration on fleek, good drinks, good coffee and often, they are also a good place to do some people watching. When I planned my trip to Rome I had a hard time finding so called hipster spots in the city, as we all know that the city of Rome is rather known for ancient ruins and astonishing history rather than trendy cafes and shops. None the less, I still managed to find a few spots anyway, and therefore I have put together this little hipster guide to Rome in favor to other people trying to find those kind of places in the eternal city. Hipster guide to Rome;

Baylon Rome

Baylon – hip cafe, bar and restaurant in Trastevere

Located in Trastevere, this cafe-bar-restaurant named Baylon is open all day. First for brunch, then for lunch, then for snacks and then for dinner. They offer drinks the whole day, and the drinks are special and created with love and care from the talented bartenders. The menu is a mix of classic instagram friendly food (pancakes for brunch, you got me), and Italian food, and it is a great place to stop by whether you are hungry or just need a snack, a fresh pressed healthy juice, a cup of coffee or a really good drink.

Via di S. Francesco a Ripa, 151, 00153 Roma, Italien

Urbana 47 Rome

Urbana 47 – hipster and food heaven in Monti

Urbana 47 is very much like Baylon, and people come here to hang all day from brunch time to dinner time. The menu has a killer brunch and burger, if the impossible thing would occur – that one would want to eat something else than pizza and pasta, and fresh juices if one is tired of Italian wine 😉

Via Urbana, 47, Roma, Italien

Queen Makeda Rome

Queen Makeda – brewed beer and a great hangout spot

Pic from Queen Makeda facebook. Queen Makeda is located close by the Colosseum and the menu offers a vast array of options – from brewed beer and drinks to Danish smørrebrød (open faced rye bread sandwiches), wok and burgers. If the weather is good Queen Makeda has a nice, sunny garden – a bamboo garden as they call it themselves.

Via di S. Saba, 11, 00153 Roma, Italien

Via Della Lungaretta – great street in Trastevere filled with amazing Italian dinner restaurants!

Via Urbana in Monti – good street for shopping and experiencing Rome’s young and hip neighboorhood Monti.

Do you know of any other hipster worthy places to visit in Rome? If yes, please share in the comment section below so we can all visit the cool places around the world <3

A day off and exciting news!

ENGLISH: Oh, how I just love to have a day off in the weekdays. It is like a little break to get things done that aren’t weekend things. The weekend is like sacret space for doing nice things, but I tend to be a little more productive if I am on on a weekday, and productivity is much necessary for me at the moment – I am still working hard on my application for university, and it is literally pushing me over the edge. Today I tried to look at it on the bright side, but still to get as much done as possible, and hopefully I will be done very soon, so I can focus on some other things that are going on right now that are also very exciting — speaking of – you see that first picture in this post?! A package? Well, guess what is hiding in that package? Exciting news! Very exciting news, actually 😉 Remember back in November when I revealed that I was publishing a book? Yep. It is finally coming true, and in this package that I received this morning was the first edition of my book, and it is damn exciting! It is a much longer process than I would have ever expected, so unfortunately this is not the post where I can tell you that it is finally done, settled, ready and over, but it is not far from it either! I am counting days now till the book is finally completely finished. Writing and publishing a book has been a long and bumpy ride, but what an experience! More about that later 😉

Besides working on my application and the book, my boyfriend and I biked to Neukölln to get some quality time together, which of course is my favorite time in the world <3 We went to the recently opened Danish bakery named The Bread Station, had cake and bread, naturally, and it was delicious. Then we went to the Turkish Market, bought tons of vegetables and fruit (eight mangos for five euros!!!!), went home and continued this application mess, started cooking the whole fish that my boyfriend got and then I went to the hairdresser, which was much needed. When I got back from the hairdresser, food was ready, my friend was over, and we ate the fish and shared a bottle of wine and had a good night. Now it is pass my bedtime and I will go straight to bed after finishing this post – I am trying to force myself to do morning yoga tomorrow morning before going to work – I have a challenge to keep up with, remember? 😉

Challenge of the week – time to work out

IMG_7775

ENGLISH: One of my favorite bloggers started a new series on her blog a few weeks ago, and she has inspired me to do the same – a new series of posts on Silver Stories containing a new challenge every week. The week after I will recap how the week has been for me and if I managed my challenge. Let’s go! As I wrote in my last post I haven’t been working out for two months, and I am fed up with it – I wanna get back in the game, and also – the famous bikini season is just around the corner, which means it is definitely time to get that body toned up just a bit! It’s been a long and cold winter with far to much potatoing on the couch…

This week’s challenge will therefore be…. dadadadaaaaam; getting back in a good workout routine. The criteria? Work out at least four times this week. And I can reveal that I made it to yoga yesterday, and that counts 😉 I will make a new challenge of the week on Sunday (I am as always a little behind with this one), and on Monday I will let you know how this week went, and if I reached the four workouts in one week. Wish me luck, and if any of you are up for joining me, please let me know how it is going for you in the comment section! <3 Ready, set, go!
