New coffee cafe in Berlin – Happy Baristas

Som jeg skrev her, er der åbnet en ny cafe i Friedrichshain, hvor jeg bor, og ifølge mig, er der (næsten) intet bedre, end når det sker 😉 Den nye café hedder Happy Baristas, og det er en af de typiske kaffe-caféer med træmøbler, stilren og enkel indretning tilsat en masse grønne planter. Man kunne fristes til at spørge “har Berlin virkelig brug for endnu en af disse caféer”, og efter min mening er svaret klart “ja!”. Jeg kan ikke få nok, og derudover er der også mange punkter, hvorpå caféerne måske ligner hinanden udefra, men stadig er meget forskellige. For eksempel på om de har wifi, om man må tage sin computer med for at arbejde, om de serverer morgenmad, frokost eller bare kage, om der bliver spillet høj musik, og selvfølgelig, hvor præcist i byen, cafeen er placeret.

Happy Baristas ligger i Friedrichshain tæt på den store station Oskreuz, og allerede efter få uger med åben, er cafeen allerede meget populær. Dette er nok grundet deres fede indretning, lækre kaffe og det væld af kager, der serveres her, hvor der selvfølgelig også er mulighed for veganske kager. Jeg prøvede selv deres veganske gulerodskage, og den var lige i skabet. I weekenderne bliver der serveret lækker brunch – for eksempel hjemmebagt brioche med ricotta og frisk frugt. Baristaerne er importeret hele vejen fra New Zealand, og de er altid friske på en lille snak, og er storsmilende parat til at servere kage og brygge kaffe. Sidst men ikke mindst er der wifi, og computere er velkomne i kafeen – dette skal nævnes, da den nye dille er, at caféerne siger nej tak til wifi og computer-skrivende gæster, hvilket selvfølgelig også er helt i orden. English: As I wrote here, there is a new cafe in Friedrichshain, and according to me, there is (almost) nothing better as new openings of places in Berlin 😉 The place is called Happy Baristas, and it is one of those classic hip coffee bars with wooden tables and chairs, simple and clean style and of course with some green plants added to the decoration. One may think “does Berlin really need more of these pretty similar coffee cafes”, and my answer is definitely yes! They all vary and differ in some points such as, if they have wifi, if you are allowed to bring your laptop, if they serve breakfast or only cake, if the music is loud and also where exactly the cafe is located.

Happy Baristas is located in Friedrichshain close to the big station named Ostkreuz, and already after only being open for a few weeks, the cafe has met a great amount of popularity. This is probably due to their beautiful decoration, delicious coffee and yummy cakes. There is a big selection of cakes, where some of the options of course (we are in Friedrichshain the vegan-lovers haven not to forget!), are vegan. I personally opted for the vegan carrot cake, and it was so good. On the weekends Happy Baristas serve a tasty brunch – how does a homemade brioche bun with ricotta cheese and fresh fruit sound? The baristas are imported all the way from New Zealand, and they so friendly and always ready for a small talk. Last but not least, Happy Baristas offers wifi, and laptops are welcome – this is good to mention since the new trend for cafes is to ban wifi and laptops, which naturally is also okay.
