Hipster guide to Rome

(I only wrote this guide in English, but let me know if any Danish readers are interested in a Danish version <3) When I travel I am a big fan of the classic hipster places that have decoration on fleek, good drinks, good coffee and often, they are also a good place to do some people watching. When I planned my trip to Rome I had a hard time finding so called hipster spots in the city, as we all know that the city of Rome is rather known for ancient ruins and astonishing history rather than trendy cafes and shops. None the less, I still managed to find a few spots anyway, and therefore I have put together this little hipster guide to Rome in favor to other people trying to find those kind of places in the eternal city. Hipster guide to Rome;

Baylon Rome

Baylon – hip cafe, bar and restaurant in Trastevere

Located in Trastevere, this cafe-bar-restaurant named Baylon is open all day. First for brunch, then for lunch, then for snacks and then for dinner. They offer drinks the whole day, and the drinks are special and created with love and care from the talented bartenders. The menu is a mix of classic instagram friendly food (pancakes for brunch, you got me), and Italian food, and it is a great place to stop by whether you are hungry or just need a snack, a fresh pressed healthy juice, a cup of coffee or a really good drink.

Via di S. Francesco a Ripa, 151, 00153 Roma, Italien

Urbana 47 Rome

Urbana 47 – hipster and food heaven in Monti

Urbana 47 is very much like Baylon, and people come here to hang all day from brunch time to dinner time. The menu has a killer brunch and burger, if the impossible thing would occur – that one would want to eat something else than pizza and pasta, and fresh juices if one is tired of Italian wine 😉

Via Urbana, 47, Roma, Italien

Queen Makeda Rome

Queen Makeda – brewed beer and a great hangout spot

Pic from Queen Makeda facebook. Queen Makeda is located close by the Colosseum and the menu offers a vast array of options – from brewed beer and drinks to Danish smørrebrød (open faced rye bread sandwiches), wok and burgers. If the weather is good Queen Makeda has a nice, sunny garden – a bamboo garden as they call it themselves.

Via di S. Saba, 11, 00153 Roma, Italien

Via Della Lungaretta – great street in Trastevere filled with amazing Italian dinner restaurants!

Via Urbana in Monti – good street for shopping and experiencing Rome’s young and hip neighboorhood Monti.

Do you know of any other hipster worthy places to visit in Rome? If yes, please share in the comment section below so we can all visit the cool places around the world <3
