High lights of 2014

♥ Landed an internship and a good job

In the beginning of 2014, I got an apprenticeship at Agency V in Berlin. I was there for six months, had a lot of fun, made great friends, learned about fashion, marketing and PR and most importantly how it is to have a more-than-full-time job. The good thing about trying different kind of jobs and internships is that you get to know more about what you want to do in the future by trying it out on your own. After finishing at Agency V, I was more than lucky to land a job as country manager for a coupon website. Sometimes I still wonder how and why I got this job without having much experience and an education. Taking this job also meant that I had to postpone my plans about studying and moving back to Copenhagen.

♥ Got to know myself even better

Being 19/20 years old means that there are still a lot of things that you have to go through and learn from. It is in this age where you most likely separate yourself from your parents and become your own person that has to learn to stand on own two legs. I had quite a few hard episodes this year but in the end, I came out stronger and with more knowledge on the other side. Knowing myself quite well by now means that I have more good days than bad days, and at least most of the time I know how I can turn a bad day into a good one.

♥ Got to travel and visit new countries

One of the things I enjoy most is to travel and it is fair to say I have had my travel share in 2014. In 2014 I visited Oslo, Barcelona, Rügen (North Germany), Rome, Napoli, the Volcano Islands, New York, Marrakech, New York again, Miami and then I travelled between Copenhagen and Berlin more than I can count. I feel so blessed to be able to live a life than includes constantly looking forward to the next place to go and my secret dream is to one day have visited all countries in the world…

♥ Learned more German and English

The end of 2014 means that I have now lived in Berlin for almost a year and a half. What I overall can say about this experience is that it has been one of a challenge! One of my goals moving here was to improve my German, and I did, but unfortunately not as much as expected or what I hoped for. The problem is that so many people in Berlin are not from here, so they speak English instead. On the bright side, it made my English better, and of course, I also improved my German a lot.

♥ Missed a lot

Living in Berlin and having my family and closest friends 450 kilometers away can be tough at times. It is hard knowing that all my friends are in Copenhagen gossiping and catching up over a cup of coffee in our favorite café or that I am the only grandchild missing at my grandfather’s Sunday dinner. Those are some of the things, you have to deal with when you decide to move to another city. Luckily, my friends and family come to visit quite often and we have had many great weekends in Berlin in 2014.

♥ Kissed a lot of frogs

… and one of them turned out to be a prince. 2014 was also the year where I was lucky enough to find a great guy that totally makes it worth giving up the other frogs.

2015  – I am ready! Let’s hope for an even better year with more travels, great experiences and moments.
